We have made a few important updates to the TMS Discord Bot to make it easier for Minecraft server owners to connect their Discord community with their Top MC Server listing.
The biggest change is the new setup system. Instead of guessing which commands to run first, server owners can now use:
/setup start
This guided setup flow helps you link your TMS listing, choose a vote channel, enable vote announcements, and post a vote menu for your players.
What changed?
New
/setupcommand group
The bot now has a cleaner setup command system:
/setup start Guided setup for linking your server and configuring the bot.
/setup status Check your current bot setup, linked listing, vote channel, and announcement status.
/setup channel Set or update the Discord channel used for vote activity.
/setup announcements Turn vote announcements on or off.
/setup votemenu Post a fresh vote menu for your players.
The older /setupvotemenu command still works as a shortcut, but new servers should use the /setup command group going forward.
Live Rankings fix
We also fixed an issue where manual ranking updates worked, but the scheduled Live Rankings update was not firing properly. The scheduled task is now started correctly by the bot.
Monthly vote reset improvements
The monthly vote reset process has also been cleaned up. Previously, the bot could mark the monthly reset as complete even if the vote wipe did not actually succeed. That has been corrected so the reset is only marked complete after a successful wipe.
Why server owners should use the TMS Bot
The TMS Bot helps bring your Top MC Server listing directly into your Discord community. Players can vote, vouch, check server information, and interact with your listing without needing to hunt around for links.
It is especially useful for servers that want to:
Make voting easier for players
Post a clean vote menu in Discord
Send vote alerts into a public channel
Encourage monthly server vouches
Keep their community connected to their TMS listing
Build stronger activity and trust signals over time
